In the Issue 18th October - 31st October 1979, Smash Hits provided it's readers with one of 5 badges.

 

The badges were provided due to a mix up from Squeeze Record company as the Track given away with the Flexi Disc was not exclusive as it was made available on a compilation album that had also been released. 

 

These badges were:

 

Sex Pistols 

David Bowie 

The Boomtown Rats

Ian Dury and the Blockheads

Blondie.

 

A badge was fixed onto the front cover of the magazine and inside you were given the first token (you needed 3 tokens in total) to send off to get the other badges.
