In 1981 NME gave their readers the chance to get their hands on 4 Cassette Albums. These were called:

You had to send off Tokens (printed in the issues) and send a Cheque or Postal Oder and your Cassette will be on it's way.

Jive Wire
Jive Wire was a cassette compiled for the British music paper NME in April 1982. Featuring a number of contemporary musical acts and performers It was the second in a series of many cassette releases from the paper
Jive Wire Cassette consisted of 21 Tracks and was released in April 1982. The Reader needed to collect 2 different Tokens. Together with £1.99 plus 25p by Cheque or Postal Order and within 28 days the Cassette would be yours to enjoy.
