I grew up reading the Smash Hits in the UK.  However it wasn't until years later that I found out that the magazine was published in other countries.

 

This page will concentrate on the Austrlian Publications from the 1990's and 2000's.

 

The Australian edition of smash Hits began in November 1984 as a fortnightly release and was edited by James Manning.  The magazine blended some of the content from it's parent publication but included locally generated material.

 

Originally published by Fairfax Magazines it was later purchased by Mason Stewart Publications.  Over the years the magazine became a monthly and then bi-monthly.  On the 30th March 2007, it was announced that the Australian version would cease publication due to low readership.  The issue that was originally schedualed to be released on the 9th May 2007 was subsequantly cancelled.

 

 

At the moment I have very little, a couple of the full issues and others as only pictures of some of the covers.
