1988 Poll Winners
Smash Hits published the 'Tenth Annual Readers Award Voting Form' in the 7th September -
20th September 1988 issue of Smash Hits.
The Voting Form was to be used to ask the readers what their favourites were from for the year 1988.
The Poll had categories such as Best Group, though to the Most Fanciable Human Being.
The results were then published in the 2nd November - 15th November 1988 issue of the magazine.
This was also the 1st year that the awards were broadcast live on BBC1.

Poll Winners Party
This was the first year that the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party took place.
It was presented at the Royal Albert Hall - London and was brought by Harvey Goldsmith.
The party was on Sunday 30th October 1988 and was broadcast on BBC1 at 3.30 pm. with a simultaneous broadcast on Radio 1.
