1996 Poll Winners
Smash Hits published the Eightieth Annual Smash Hits Readers Poll Voting Form in the 23rd October -
5th November 1996 issue of Smash Hits.
The Voting Form was to be used to ask the readers what their favourites were from the year 1996.
The Poll had categories such as Best Group, though to the Most Fanciable Human Being.
The results were then published in the 4th December - 17th December 1996 issue of the magazine.
This was also the 9th year that the awards were broadcast live on BBC1.

This was the Ninth year that the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party took place.
This time it was at London Arena - Docklands and was brought by BBCTV in association with Our Price.
The Director was Julia Knowles.
The party was on Sunday 1st December 1996 and was broadcast on BBC1 at 2.55 pm.
Ant and Dec and Lilly Savage presented the show.
It was also broadcast on Radio 1
