Smash Hits
1995 Sticker Book
Smash Hits produced a Sticker Book that was given away free in the 21st June - 4th July 1995 issue. The same issue also came with a free set of 6 stickers to start the readers into collecting the stickers required to complete the book.
The following issue 5th July - 18th July also came free with another Pack Of 6 Stickers.
Each sticker measured approx. 4" x 3" in size and came with a peel off backing with a picture of an artist or band on the front. On the back of each sticker there was a generic message which said 'collect these stickers in the album available from your local shop'
This was the Eighth Sticker Book that Smash Hits published.

Produced for the Smash Hits Magazine and Distributed by Panini SPA, this 36 page sticker book had 144 individual pictures that you can stick into the book. There was also a further 24 Generic Stickers making a total of 166 Stickers to collect.

This built up to a collection of the biggest acts of that year which included Let Loose, Madonna, Janet Jackson and MN8 to name a few.
Some artists, for instance 'MN8 got a whole page of stickers while other artists only had One Sticker to place into the book.
Each Sticker Book was printed by Figurine Panini in Italy for the UK and European market with Sticker Packs costing 22p for a set of Six Stickers. Readers were encouraged to buy as many packs as they could to complete the collection and were also encouraged to swap duplicates with their friends. There were 100 packs in each Sticker Box.
After all this if you still could not complete your collection then you could write to Panini Stickers in London requesting the ones you need, up to a maximum 100 stickers, which would cost 6p for each sticker. The information to do this was on a Leaflet attached to the Sticker Book. This leaflet also had a questionnaire about yourself with the chance to win a prize.

Collecting Stickers and Books
A note for people collecting these Sticker Books (or any type of Sticker Books).
The rules are that each Sticker book needs to be clear of any stickers to gain it's maximum value.
Any stickers that are put into the book will reduce it's monetary value. It is best to collect the stickers and keep them separate in a clear plastic wallet. However it does not stop people from collecting the Sticker Books that are complete as it is still fun to see the pictures in them.
