On the 5th December 1999 Smash Hits held their annual Poll Winners Party in association with Our Price. The show was held at the London Arena venue.

 

James Bond was the over-riding theme at the Poll Winners Party this year. Every pop chick in town dressed up in there best spy disguise and danced on down to the London Arena for the last Poll Winners Party of the Millennium.

 

Steps were the hosts, and opened the show with a forthcoming release from their double-A side single Better the Devil You Know.

Their were live performances from B*Witched, Boyzone, and Ronan Keating performing his solo release, Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews, WestLife and Britney Spears, who repeated her winning streak begun at the MTV Europe Music Awards by picking up 5 awards.

 

Domination by American acts took over this year as The Backstreet Boys also won five awards including Best Band on Planet Pop.

 

A bad year however, for MelC and Adam Rickett, topping most of the polls between them for Worst ...
