"Happy Christmas From The Stars" is a promotional-only flexi-disc single featuring many pop stars from the 80's, released in the UK by Smash Hits / Levi's / Lyntone during 1982.

Smash Hits Magazine gave away this Black Flexi Disc in the 9th December - 22nd December 1982 issue of the magazine. This was the magazine's 5th Free Flexi disc since the magazine began.

In December 1982 Neil Tennant was working for the magazine as the Editor of the Smash Hits Year Book and News Editor for the magazine itself.

Tennant came up with an idea to record Christmas Greeting from various artists of the day and put them onto a Flexi-disc to be given away with the magazine.

The Flexi-disc contains Spoken words from the artists at a pretend Christmas Party, while Editor Mark Ellen pretends to be in the same room as the pop stars. This was all stitched together with party sounds effects.

In a venture ahead of it's time, the whole thing was sponsored by Black Levis, then a trendy new type of Levis at the time, who had three (quite funny) ads about a Santa finishing School.
