In the 21st July - 3rd August 1983 issue of Smash Hits they advertised to their readers an opportunity to get their hands on a Pen and Autograph Book Set.

  

In order to get your hands on these you had the following options.  

 

Send 3 tokens and £1.00 to get the Pen

 

Send 3 tokens and 50 Pence you can get the Book

 

Send 3 tokens and £1.50 you can get the Pen and the Book.

 

Also just to make the offer that more harder to resist, when the orders came in the first 10 names picked out of the hat received an Autograph Book with authentic Pop Stars Autographs in it plus a Pen Free and a blank Autograph Book.
