Following the success of the newly launched Panini annual for 2006, BBC decided to strip Panini of the rights to produce an Annual and gave the rights to the BBC Books department instead.  

From 2007 untill the present day BBC Books have released an Annual which is based on the original Annuals in that they are aimed at the younger audiance with a mixture of stories and puzzels,
