International

Apart from being sold in the UK, Smash HIts was made available throughout Europe, and was especially popular in Germany. The publication was mainly bought at Train Stations and Airports.

Smash Hits was licensed for a French and Spanish version in the 1990's.  Two further versions of the magazine were those that were licensed to Australia and Amarica.

In Australia the magazine was also called Smash Hits and was launched in 1984 and proved just as successful as the UK version.  However in America, as another magazine was already being publised under the name Smash Hits, the magazine was entitled Star Hits and drawed artilces from the UK Version.
